TOUR

FRENDS Cobalt is a subset of FRENDS Iron - it's a solution for file transfer integrations and focus is on efficient implementation and deployment. Cobalt has following capabilities

  • SSH File Transfer (Secure FTP, SFTP)
  • FTPS (FTP Secure, FTP-SSL)
  • FTP (also append)
  • File shares
  • Reporting database with built-in SQL Server Reporting Services reports
  • Extension API for proving flexibility and scaling up out-of-the-box functionality

Using Cobalt is easy:

  1. Define source from where to fetch file(s)
  2. Define destination where to transfer file(s)
  3. Define action(s) in between the transfer (for each file)

Configuration can be done quickly within minutes and it does not require any coding or custom development. Cobalt contains a bunch of capabilities for parameterizing transfers, here's a list what you can do

  • Copying and moving files from a single endpoint to another
  • Archive and backup original source files to specified destination
  • Renaming patterns for destination files
  • Operations on source files after transfer: rename, delete, move - or do nothing
  • Options on what to do if the destination files exist: append, overwrite or throw an error
  • XSL -transformation for transferred XML files
  • Changing the encoding of a transferred file
  • Logging features either for SQL Server database or file based logs
  • Sample SQL Reporting Services report for seeing which files have been transferred and if any transfers failed
  • Extension API for proving flexibility and scaling up out-of-the-box functionality
